Which engine you get depends on the Dodge Challenger trim level you choose. Kicking off the engine lineup is the 3.6-liter V6 engine under the hood of the SXT and GT trims. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this engine delivers 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. While rear-wheel drive is standard, these two trim levels are eligible for all-wheel drive. Stepping up to the R/T trim level gets you a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine that lays down 375 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. The front fender of the R/T trim wears a '345' badge, nodding to the engine's cubic-inch displacement. The R/T Scat Pack trim dials it up a notch with a 485-horsepower 6.4L HEMI V8 with 475 lb-ft of torque. The fender badge of the Scat Pack reads '392', noting its larger size. The last available engine is the most powerful and offers three power output levels depending on your selected trim level. Under the hood of the SRT Hellcat, the 6.2L supercharged HEMI V8 delivers 707 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Hellcat Redeye provides 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. Lastly, the Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak and Super Stock both rip out an enthralling 807 horsepower. While the V6 engine comes with an 8-speed automatic, the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and Hellcat come with a six-speed manual transmission, while the eight-speed automatic is optional. Meanwhile, the Hellcat Redeye, Jailbreak, and Super Stock switch back to the eight-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel paddle shifters for sequential shifting.

Over the years, Dodge has continuously modernized the Challenger while keeping an instantly recognizable design that brings memories of the Challengers of old. The Challenger's heritage can be seen from the front end with a short grille spread across most of the front fascia's upper portion. The 2023 Dodge Challenger lineup was named "Last Call" by Dodge. Dodge is celebrating the Challenger's history in a few ways. The first is by reintroducing discontinued exterior paint colors, including Sublime, Plum Crazy, B5 Blue, and Destroyer Gray. Additionally, Dodge created underhood plaques for each 2023 Challenger model that have a silhouette of the Challenger's side profile under the vehicle's name and "Designed in Brampton" and "Assembled in Auburn Hills" inscribed below. However, the most notable part of the Last Call celebration is the lineup of Last Call special editions. The first special edition is Shakedown, which was designed as a concept car for the SEMA auto show in 2016. Based on the R/T Scat Pack trim, the Shakedown features either a Destroyer Gray or Pitch Black paint job with black and red striping. The hood features the Shaker hood from Mopar. The Shakedown also features red Brembo brake calipers, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a red and black color scheme inside. The Swinger comes next with some retro style to honor the 1970s Dodge Dart Swinger. The Swinger is built off the R/T Scat Pack Widebody and features Gold School gold badging and wheels to contrast the Sublime or F8 Green paint. Other features of the Swinger include a Gold School Shaker hood scoop, 20-by-11-inch Gold School alloy wheels, and black 'Swinger' vinyl graphics. The Black Ghost special edition uses the 807-horsepower Hellcat Redeye as its platform to honor Godfrey Quall's black 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T that ripped up and down Detroit's Woodward Ave and then disappeared into the night, earning the name Black Ghost. The modern Black Ghost features Pitch Black paint, black snakeskin roof vinyl, Bright Chrome exterior accents, a Bright Chrome hood pin kit, and a white decklid. Lastly, the Demon 170 features an extensive list of high-performance equipment and is tuned for 1,025 horsepower and 900 lb-ft of torque.
