Charlotte's Wings
Charlotte's Wings is a non-profit group that is dedicated to supporting ailing children in Michigan through donations of new books. The books are distributed to children and their families in hospitals and hospice care. Charlotte's Wings goal is to bring sick children a smile, a dream, or an escape from their difficult reality. Learn more about Charlotte's Wings, and how you can help.
Older Persons Commission (OPC)Â
The OPC is a wonderful local group that provides innovative programs and high quality services that stimulate and advance active and healthy living for the 50+ community. The provided activities include personal enrichment, fitness, aquatic, social and travel offerings. Supportive senior services are also part of the Old Persons Commission, and these include Meals on Wheels, Adult Day Service, Transportation and more. Residents 50+ of Rochester Hills, Rochester and Charter Township of Oakland have automatic membership of the 90,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility.
HAVENÂ
Haven is Oakland County's only comprehensive program for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The group provides shelter, counseling, advocacy and educational programming to nearly 30,000 people each year. HAVEN's programs include a residential program, counseling, social action, support groups, and much more!Â
Pull! for Kids
Pull! for Kids is a sporting clays tournament put on by Child Safe Michigan, a group that raises funds to provide programs and services to help ensure that abused and at-risk children in Southeast Michigan have the safety and protection they need in order to live the healthy and happy lives.Â
Vets Returning Home's Stuff a Truck
Stuff a Truck is a local donation collection event that provides an opportunity to give back to our veterans during the Thanksgiving season. Vets Returning Home is a nonprofit and non-government funded organization dedicated to help veterans transition into stable lives. The group's mission is to end chronic homelessness among veterans in the local communities.
Stoney Creek HS Band BoosterÂ
The SCHS Music Boosters is an organization whose sole purpose is to support the Stoney Creek High School Music Program and students' musical development through financial and volunteer assistance. Being a part of the SCHS Music Boosters is a terrific way to become involved in the Band and Choir programs and to show support for the wonderful students. The Instrumental Music Program at Stoney Creek High School has its foundation in the three concert bands that meet every day, all school year. Students are regularly invited out into the greater Rochester community to share their talents with others through performance. Â
Adams HS Yellow Ribbon Fund
Adams High School is taking place in a Charity Week to support the Yellow Ribbon Fund Charity with a Fundraising Dinner at the Country Club Village. Enjoy food, drinks, live music, and a live auction. All proceeds going towards the Yellow Ribbon Fund, an organization that serves to support returning servicemen and women. ​The group was one of the first veteran service organizations to recognize the importance of keeping the family together during the critical recuperation phase. As veterans return stateside to receive treatment and rehabilitate injuries, the Yellow Ribbon Fund covers the costs for families to visit loved ones, provides service dogs, and assists veterans and their families as they return to civilian life.necessary.Â
