2019 Jeep Cherokee Power & Handling

The Jeep Cherokee can be powered by one of three engines of the 2019 model year, one of which is brand new for the model year. The standard engine, a 2.4-liter inline-4, generates 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be configured with FWD or AWD. The second engine, a 3.2L V6, produces 271 hp and 239 lb-ft of torque. This engine can be equipped with FWD, AWD, or one of the available 4x4 systems! Brand new for the 2019 model year, the 2.0L turbo inline-4 creates up to 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. This engine can also be equipped with FWD, AWD, or a 4x4 system. Each engine option is mated to a smooth-shifting nine-speed automatic transmission. The Cherokee can tow up to 2,000 pounds.

2019 Honda CR-V Power & Handling

There are just two engine options available for the Honda CR-V. The first, a 2.4-liter inline-4, generates up to 184 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. This engine is available with both FWD and AWD configurations. The second and final engine option is a 1.5-liter turbo inline-4 that produces up to 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also available with both FWD and AWD. Both engines are mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. Towing is possible with the CR-V but it maxes out at just 1,500 pounds.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Features & Design

The Cherokee can be found in a total of five trim levels, each offering their own list of features that will meet all your needs. Those trims include the Latitude, Latitude Plus, Limited, Trailhawk, and Overland. Standard features for the 2019 model year include Bluetooth, automatic xenon headlights, a rearview camera, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a 7" touchscreen, folding front passenger seat, height-adjustable front seats, and so much more! Throughout the upper trim levels, you will find features like additional USB ports, keyless entry and ignition, a power liftgate, a larger 8.4" touchscreen, parking sensors, cornering lights, navigation, sound-deadening glass, leather upholstery, and a sunroof. The off-roading oriented Trailhawk model comes equipped with features like tow hooks, unique suspension tuning, hill ascent and descent control, skid plates, all-terrain tires, additional ground clearance, and more! In addition to the trim's standard features, there are available packages for even more features!

2019 Honda CR-V Features & Design

The Honda CR-V is offered in four trim levels for the 2019 model year. They include the LX, EX, EX-L, and the Touring. The entry-level LX comes outfitted with features like LED running lights, a rearview camera, Bluetooth, two USB ports, a 5" color display, cruise control, automatic climate control, and a four-speaker sound system. The upper trim levels add on rear privacy glass, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry and ignition, a 7" touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a power liftgate, and roof rails. There are no available packages so what you see is what you get with the CR-V.

Conclusions

There is no doubt about it, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee is the SUV to choose! The Honda CR-V just could not keep up, offering only two engine options and a trim lineup that is nothing but disappointing. The Jeep Cherokee offers three powerful engines, multiple 4x4 systems, a incredibly well-equipped base trim level and an entire trim level dedicated to off-roading!
