Rochester Hills is Detroit's neighbor to the northeast. It's the kind of place where people move to raise their children. This isn't to say that it's boring. In fact, Rochester Hills is chock full of fun and interesting things to do.

Like the state in which it's located, Rochester Hills has much to offer in the way of outdoor fun. Every year, there's Paddlepalooza on the Clinton River. The event comprises a Canoe Race, a Kayak Race, and an Adventure River Paddle.

Spencer Lake is a hot spot in Rochester Hills. Here, you can catch a game of tennis, swim at the beach on the 38-acre lake, or take a casual stroll through beautiful wooded hiking trails. There are even fishing tournaments for the experienced anglers.

At Van Hoosen Farm, you'll find the Rochester Hills Museum. Here on the farm, there are fascinating museum exhibits showing the history of the Rochester Hills area. Beyond that, some of the structures themselves on the Van Hoosen Farm are nearly two hundred years old.

Downtown Rochester Hills is a happening place. Featuring more than 350 shops housed in classic old-school storefronts, the downtown area is an adventure waiting to happen. Lots of wonderful events happen here, such as Movies In The Moonlight, where everyone gathers at dusk to watch a classic movie on a giant projector, and the Big, Bright Light Show where the downtown shops cover themselves in over a million lights for the winter holidays.

A small town full of life, Rochester Hills has much to offer without all of the hassles of the big city. But, if the need arises, Detroit is only a short drive away.
