Powertrain Options for the 2022 Dodge Challenger
All the incredible power and speed you can expect from the 2022 Dodge Challenger begins with its proven powertrain options that start out strong, and build to all-out unstoppable! Under the hood of the SXT and GT trims, you'll find the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 rated at 303 horsepower and 286 lb-ft of torque. Next up, the R/T features a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with an output of 375 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. On the Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody trims, you'll find a 392 HEMI V8, producing 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. From here, things start amping up with the first version of the supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 found on the SRT Hellcat. This engine pumps out 717 horsepower, followed by the Hellcat Redeye with an output of 797 horsepower. If that's still not enough, the SRT Super Stock's V8 engine has been specially calibrated to produce a whopping 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque!
What Trim Levels does the Challenger Offer for 2022?
As mentioned above, the 2022 Dodge Challenger features seven different trim levels in its lineup. The first two models are the SXT and the GT. These two are unique in that they offer an all-wheel drive option, in comparison to the rest of the collection which features standard rear-wheel drive. Next up is the R/T, which adds an active exhaust system, followed by the R/T Scat Pack. Following that, you have the two Hellcat models, the SRT Hellcat, and the SRT Hellcat Redeye. The Scat Pack, Hellcat, and Hellcat Redeye trims all offer a Widebody Package, which adds 3.5 inches to the overall width of the vehicle. Widebody models also feature wider Pirelli drag radials, and 20-by-11-inch wheels. This not only lends the Widebody models a strong and distinctive appearance, but also improves their traction, and road grip. Lastly, the final trim level is the SRT Super Stock with its top-tier engine and power output.
