Supplying the Challenger's legendary American muscle performance are four available engines. Standard equipment for the SXT and GT trims is a 3.6L V6 engine that sends 303 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. While rear-wheel drive is standard, these two trim levels are available with all-wheel drive. Underneath the hood of the R/T trim is a 5.7L HEMI V8 that delivers 375 horsepower and 410 horsepower to the rear wheels with a 6-speed manual transmission. Stepping up to the Scat Pack trim gets you a 6.4L V8, offering 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque, also using a 6-speed manual. The Hellcat trim uses a supercharged 6.2L V8, supplying an exciting 717 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque. The Super Stock trim comes with a high-output supercharged 6.2L V8, ripping out an enthralling 807 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque. While the Hellcat uses the 6-speed manual, the Super Stock switches back to a high-torque-enabled 8-speed automatic.

Dodge knows that living up to its name is its most important job, but looking and feeling good certainly doesn't hurt! Looking at the Challenger from the outside, you'll find round LED daytime running lights, an aggressive grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated power side mirrors, and LED taillights. Fast forward to present day, and SRT provides drivers with some of the most high-tech performance technologies available for mass-produced vehicles. Standard for the R/T, Scat Pack, Hellcat, and Super Stock, are the SRT Drive Modes and Performance Pages. The available drive modes are Sport, Track, Custom, Auto, and Valet. The Performance Pages show drivers' engine output readings, G-Force readings, response times, and 0-60 times. These trims also feature Line Lock and Launch Control. Line Lock allows you to lock the front brakes and let the rear wheels spin freely, allowing you to warm up the tires with a burnout. With Launch Control, you can set a specific RPM for the Challenger to launch. After building up the RPMs to that level and releasing the brake, you will get the maximum launch time. The Hellcat and Super Stock, with their supercharger, have their own exclusive set of technologies. First is Race Cooldown, which continues to run the radiator fan and coolant pump after the Challenger has been shut down to cool down the supercharger. To regulate the supercharger's temperature while running, these models use the SRT Power Chiller, which uses a chilling unit dedicated to the supercharger and uses A/C refrigerant to keep itself from overheating.
