Keep reading to find out which SUV reigns supreme.

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Power & Handling

Jeep has never once been considered a slouch when it comes to power and capability. It should come as a surprise to no one that there are four available engines offered with the 2020 Grand Cherokee. The base engine, a 3.6-liter V6 that punches out 295 horsepower, can come in either two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The rest of the lineup gets four-wheel drive as standard, along with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Beyond that base V6 engine, all of the other options are V8, starting with a 5.7-liter V8 that can offer 360 horsepower. Another option, standard with the SRT trim, is a 6.4-liter V8, which can pump out 475 horsepower. The final engine is the Trackhawk's supercharged 6.2-liter V8.

2020 Ford Edge Power & Handling

While the Edge isn't the worst competition around, the two available engines with this SUV make it fall short of the Grand Cherokee. The standard engine, offered with FWD or AWD, is a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4. This engine can output 275 pound-feet of torque and 250 horsepower. The other available engine here is a twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6, which can create around 380 pound-feet of torque and 335 horsepower. You will also find an eight-speed automatic transmission with this SUV.

2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee Features & Design

The trim lineup for the Grand Cherokee is just as impressive as the rest of the machine. You will love the standard features, which include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated side mirrors, and even 17-inch alloy wheels. Another option to look at here is Limited, which includes a power liftgate, heated front seats, a leather interior, a power sunroof, and an 8.4-inch display with navigation. For anyone who wants something that focuses heavily on off-roading, you'll want Trailhawk. This trim adds Quadra-Trac 4WD, a Selec-Terrain 4x4 terrain-management system, 18-inch off-road wheels, and an Alpine premium audio system.

2020 Ford Edge Features & Design

In order to try and keep up with the Grand Cherokee, Ford has its own trim lineup for the Edge. Standard features include Wi-Fi, rain-sensing wipers, 18-inch alloy wheels, a 4.2-inch infotainment display, and Ford Co-Pilot 360 driver aids. The SEL trim includes dual-zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, rear parking sensors, and power-adjustable front seats. The most luxurious trim, Titanium, includes wireless charging, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, leather upholstery, and hands-free tailgate operation.
