With a top speed of 196 miles per hour and an all new Widebody Package the 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody is bigger, badder, and faster than ever before. The SRT Hellcat isn't the only muscle car in the model lineup receiving a widerbody though, the Charger Scat Pack will also be available with a widebody in 2020.

The massive amount of power produced by the Charger SRT Hellcat all comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Hellcat V8 engine. The supercharged engine pumps out a monstrous 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All that power allows the SRT Hellcat to reach that top speed of 196 mph.

The high performance capabilities of the SRT Hellcat Widebody doesn't just stop with furious amounts of power produced by the supercharged engine. The Widebody Package on the SRT Hellcat further improves the muscle car's performance. The body of the SRT Hellcat Widebody is extended by 3.5 inches to make room for larger wheels and tires. The wider body allows the SRT Hellcat Widebody muscle car to ride on new 20-inch by 11-inch Carbon Black forged wheels and wider, stickier Pirelli 305/35XR20 tires. Dodge further increases the performance of the SRT Hellcat by including SRT-tuned Blistein three-mode adaptive damping competition suspesnsion, stiffer springs, new electric power steering, re-tuned shocks, larger sway bars, Brembo brakes with the Widebody Package.

The brand new electric power steering with selectable steering tuning that comes with the SRT Hellcat Widebody is designed to better manage the increased amount of grip provided by the tires. The combination of electric power steering and selectable steering tuning the includes settings for Street (Auto), Sport and Track, and Custom increased handling both on and off the track. It's all about increasing performance for 2020 which is why the SRT Hellcat now comes standard with Race Cooldown, Line Lock, Launch Control, and Launch Assist.

All of these improvements paved the way for the 2020 Charger SRT Hellcat to be the best-handling and fastest Hellcat to date. How do we know this for sure? Well Dodge sent SRT engineers to the drag strip, a race track, and the streets to make sure. At the drag strip the SRT Hellcat Widebody stomped down the quarter-mile in an elapsed time of 10.96 seconds and pulls .96 g on the skidpad. SRT engineers then went to a road course where the SRT Hellcat Widebody outperformed the model it's replacing by 2.1 seconds, coincidentally on a 2.1-mile long track. In case you're thinking an improvement of 2.1 seconds isn't that impressive might we point out that is equal to a 13 car length gap per lap and that is definitely something to write home about.

The Widebody Package will also be available for the 2020 Charger Scat Pack model which is powered by a 392-cubic-inch Hemi V8 engine. The Widebody Package for the Scat Pack will include 20-inch by 11-inch "Devil's Rim" split-five spoke with Low-gloss Granite finish and Pirelli 305/35ZR20 all-season performance tires.

America's most beloved four-door muscle car is expected to roll onto dealer lots in early 2020 with pre-ordering starting this fall. We're not sure about you but we are pretty excited to get the entire 2020 Dodge Charger lineup in early next year. Until then, you can check out our entire inventory of new and used Dodge Charger's right here.
