This engine is mated with the brand-new mild-hybrid eTorque system that utilizes a motor generator and a 48-volt battery. When extra torque is needed, this system can deliver and it even boosts the truck's fuel economy! The second engine available for the 2019 model year is a 5.7-liter V8. This engine can be had with or without the mild-hybrid system. Ram mates both of these engines to a  smooth-operating eight-speed automatic transmission. Plus, both engine options are offered in both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive options.
