The Latitude Plus is next with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, a 115-volt outlet, an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, and Bluetooth. The Trailhawk adds off-roading capability with its tow hooks, all-terrain tires, and off-road oriented suspension tuning. The Limited trim then continues with a more luxurious feel to it. This trim comes with features like leather upholstery, heated front seats, a wiper de-icer, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The Overland trim then puts the cherry on top with features that include cornering lights, upgraded leather upholstery, a navigation system, and a sound-deadening windshield.
How much weight can the Cherokee tow?
The engine found inside most Jeep Cherokee trims would be the 2.4-liter Tigershark with 184 horsepower. The only trim found with a different engine is the Overland. The Overland comes with a 3.2-liter V6 engine capable of 271 horsepower. This engine is available as an option to the lower trims as well. For towing capability, the base engine has up to 2,000 pounds of towing capacity, while the V6 has a maximum of 4,500 pounds. Both of these engines are paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and the choice of either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. If you choose four-wheel drive, you receive the choice of either Active Drive II with two-speed transfer, Active Drive I with single-speed transfer, or Active Drive Lock with a Selec-Terrain system that comes with rock mode. Each of these have their own capabilities, but are all great with smooth transitioning from the pavement to the dirt.
What is included for safety?
Safety has taken some huge updates for 2018. The Cherokee now includes standard features like cross path detection, ParkSense rear backup warning, and blind-spot monitoring. In addition to these features, the Cherokee is also offered with automatic parking for both perpendicular and parallel parking, automatic high beams, a lane departure warning, a forward collision warning system with crash mitigation, and radar-based cruise control.
